Gone Girl

This marketing tool is targeting their target audience by;

The layout is that the sky is the predominant feature of the poster. The sky is dark showing that something bad is going to happen. They also have faded in a picture of a woman's eyes into the sky, this adds the effect of mystery which supports the narrative.
The man is in the foreground and is the main focus of the poster showing the audience that he is a main character and has an important role in the film.

The title "Gone Girl" is the centre of the poster, this grabs the audience eyes as it in the middle. The font is bold and block capitals making it stand out. The clouds are interlinking into the title adding mystery which also supports the narrative and makes the audience see the film.

The use of the breaking news type sign, across the bottom of the poster, saying the search fro "amazing amy" which suggests someone is going to go missing, this helps the audience have an idea of what the genre is and if they would want to see the film.
